Every year Pernik organises an international Kukeri festival. Participants come from villages all over Bulgaria as well as countries across the globe to celebrate and compete for the best Kukeri parade.

Archangel of health and patron saint of travellers
My childhood friend Fred always said that once you're married and you have kids you can forget about travelling. You'll be stuck at home changing nappies and feeling tired. This blog is dedicated to Fred and all the other old-young people to show them that there is life after birth. Travelling, having fun and discovering the world is always open to you even with a nappy in one hand and your baby's ankles in the other.
